“First Fifty”
Founded 50 years ago, The Woodlands continues to thrive today as one of the nations’ best planned communities. Coinciding with this significant milestone anniversary, The Woodlands is beautifying and renovating the busiest gateway intersection that connects Town Center with Residential Villages. It was a privilege for LANDology to envision and design a 50-foot-diameter steel sculpture as a keystone within the 8-acre intersection Landscape Improvements project. Perched between the bridges and arising from lower level to upper level, this donor-funded 25-ton art piece is the latest addition to The Woodlands’ extensive public art collection. The art piece was designed to reflect The Woodlands’ core pillars of community and nature, celebrating growth and commemorating the first fifty years of community and development success while inspiring the next fifty.
